Below are questions we frequently receive about false eyelashes, including the difference between mink and synthetic lashes, care and maintenance of false eyelashes, use and application, return policy, and much more!
The main difference between synthetic and mink lashes is in the quality. Because mink is 100% natural fur, it provides a natural shine, is super lightweight and flexible, gives a feather like look, can be curled like real human hair, and can be worn up to 25 times. Synthetic eyelashes, although cheaper, are irritating to the eye, fake and unnatural when worn, and can only be used a few times. Mink eyelashes are considered a premium high end product when compared with synthetic ones.
Practice makes perfect! Like anything you do in life, the more you do it the easier it will be. On average, users of false eyelashes take less than 5 minutes to apply the lashes; this includes waiting for the glue to become tacky and for the lash to set on your natural lashes. So from start to finish, applying your Velour Lashes should take you less than 5 minutes!
At Velour, we offer a total of 11 custom designed lashes: 9 upper lashes and 2 lower lashes. Each style is designed to achieve a different look and for a different occasion, with some lashes being more dramatic than others, some with more length than others, and so on. Here is a video of us introducing and describing our line of Velour Lashes!
Ever notice how Kim Kardashian’s lashes are so long on both the upper lashes AND the lower lashes? Well, we did! And at Velour, we’ve decided to create two lower lashes to achieve the famous Kardashian look. Lower lashes will have a huge impact on your eyes, making them appear larger and more captivating. Check out our video on how to apply these beautiful lower lashes!
Everyone and anyone! False lashes are suitable for anyone and are for people of all ages. Whether it is for a night out, dance recital, wedding, or anniversary, lashes can be worn by anyone and anywhere! (Just not under water.)
Velour Lashes are made up of 100% natural mink fur which has been gently brushed from live mink and sterilized to ensure that it is hypo-allergenic. We would like to make clear and public that no harm has been done to these beautiful animals. Unlike synthetic lashes, our 100% natural mink fur is free from any chemical processing and dye which allows for an extremely soft, lightweight, and natural look.
We suggest first time users follow the detailed explanation on how to apply Velour Lashes. If you are a first time user of false eyelashes, we suggest getting a pair of synthetic lashes to practice. After several applications/practices using the synthetic lashes, you should be a pro and you will be ready to use your Velour Lashes!
The mink fur has not been chemically processed or dyed so the color will be a natural black-brown. Most people that use synthetic lashes are concerned that the darkness of synthetic lashes may be too harsh for their skin tone, but because mink fur is a natural black-brown color, Velour Lashes are thus suitable for everyone!
Do NOT apply mascara to the actual mink fur as this can ruin the quality of the fur and can limit the number of uses. The reason we do not suggest applying any products on the mink is that they may contain oil that can ruin the shine and quality of the fur. It is, however, okay to apply mascara on your natural lashes before applying your Velour Lashes.
Yes of course! Because Velour Lashes are made of 100% natural mink fur, you can curl the lashes as if they were your own! The best part about using mink fur (aside from how gorgeous it makes you look) is that the curl stays for a very long time and maintains its shape.
Mink eyelashes are known for their durability and quality, allowing for up to 25 USES! To ensure you get the most use out of your Velour Lashes it is essential to take care/clean them after each use. Here are the tips you should follow.
To maximize the number of uses for your Velour Lashes we highly recommend placing them in their original casing when you are not wearing them. This will prevent the lashes from collecting dust and bacteria which can ruin the mink fur. Please refer to our How to Care page to get a detailed explanation of how to maintain and care for your Velour Lashes.
No, we do not recommend swimming in your Velour Lashes as this can ruin the curl and style of the lash. Mink fur is very delicate and soaking the lashes in water can ruin the design. Make sure you take off your Velour Lashes and store them in the original casing before you go for that swim!
Before applying glue and trimming the lash, measure Velour Lashes so that it fits the length of your natural lash line. Always trim from the outer end of the lash and not the inner. Usually we recommend users cut just short of the natural length of the eye as this will provide an easier application and will prevent the band from poking the inner corner of your eyes.
